Two worthy causes!

100 stories for Queensland has arrived! This book contains 100  short stories and the profits are all going to the Queensland Premier Flood Appeal.

100 STORIES FOR QUEENSLAND has something for everyone, from slice of life to science fiction, fantasy to romance, paranormal to literary fiction. Heart-warming, quirky, inspiring and funny, the stories between these covers will lift readers to higher ground.

Publisher: eMergent Publishing
ISBN: 978-0-9871126-3-7 (ebook)
Pages: 308
Genre: Flash Fiction/Various Genres

It can be purchased for e-readers for A$ 4.99 and the paperback version will be available in the next few days. It includes my short story, In A Jiffy.

It's lovely to see this come into fruition as it has taken a tremendous effort from several volunteers who you can read about here. All of the stories have been donated by the authors and there are some famous names from across the globe and it is a real honour to be sat amongst them!

The second worthy cause to mention is Authors for Japan. Back in March in response to the awful earthquakes and the resultant tsunami a number of authors donated various items for auction to help in raising funds. There were some fantastic lots on offer and I decided to bid on Sue Moorcroft's offer. I was delighted when I ended up winning the auction and was lucky enough to meet Sue at The Festival of Writing at the end of March.

I have just sent my work off to be critiqued and just wanted to say a public thank you to Sue as by volunteering her time she has raised over £70 (including Gift Aid) for the Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal.

Sue Moorcroft also has a short story featured in 100 stories for Queensland so even more reason to go and get your copy ASAP.

  1. Such a great cause - well done to all the people involved in it. And congratulations on winning the auction; Sue's critiques are extremely helpful (I speak from experience :-)) so good luck with it!

  2. Gosh, did I really reach £70? Brilliant.

But I think you deserve the lion's share of the credit for coughing up the £70 for such a brilliant cause as Authors for Japan. Also for getting into 100 Stories for Queensland - I know there was plenty of competition.

  3. With the Gift Aid added it was over the £70 mark but can't remember the exact figure!

Not sure I deserve any credit! Just taking part ;-)

Lucie - I didn't realise Sue had critiqued your work! I knew she'd be excellent help hence why I bidded for her!
