2016 Goals!

I love setting goals at the beginning of the year helping to give life a bit more focus over the coming year.

Health/Me time:
  • Lose 2-3 stone - I have been going to Slimming World all year and my chart looks like an ECG. I need to concentrate on getting a downward trend this year!
  • Create more 'me' time. Sort out the doctors/dentist appointments I've been putting off
  • Exercise more. I haven't found time for anything regularly since the twins were born
  • Read 15 books (Didn't manage 20 last year unless you count reading my book at least 10 times!)
  • Finish Book Two (currently unnamed) for Carina UK
  • Enjoy seeing both of these books published and enjoy the ride it'll take me on
  • Plan Book Three
  • Update my website
  • Plan a book launch for Waiting for You
  • Potty train the twins!
  • Embrace the fact they are growing up and wave goodbye to cot sides and high chairs.
  • Continue enjoying lots of family adventures
  • Get new front and back doors fitted
  • Get new boiler and radiators fitted
  • Redecorate the areas where it's needed
  • Tidy every surface in the house
  • Declutter
This year I'm going to attempt to win:
  • A family day out
  • A family holiday
  • Soft drink/alcohol/food for book launch

My Memory Jar 2015

I've seen pictures on Pinterest and Facebook of Memory Jars. One where you write your high points down on a piece of paper and pop them away in the jar ready to reflect on later in the year. It can be moments as simple as making your children giggle or something that might have taken years like completing a degree. I'm not organised enough to have a jar, but my 2015 has been full of so many precious moments, I thought I would share them in the form of photos. I know that not everyone's year has been full of happy moments and I think that's why it's important to really appreciate those memory jar moments when they come along.

My own copy of my debut!

There's a certificate so it must be true!
I got to visit my publisher twice and they let me in the building both times!

All that and I haven't included the amazing times I've had with my twins!

As you can see, I've been rather too busy to keep the blog updated as regularly as I would like as I've been investing blogging time to The Romaniacs and my writing updates are over there. So for 2016, my only aim is to put my goals for the year up here and then check in on them at the end of the year! There will be updates on The Romaniacs as to how I'm getting on.

That just leaves me wanting to wish you a fabulous 2016! Whatever your dreams are, go and chase them like a woman/man possessed.

Time to start vlogging!

I wrote an update in April, got distracted and never managed to post it, so from now on I'm hoping to do short video updates talking about how I'm getting on with the goals I set out at the beginning of the year!

Recipe #2 - #5 & more good writing news!

Recipe #2 Pasta Meatball Bake from the Slimming World calendar. It was nice, girls enjoyed it, but produced way too much washing up to do to often.
Recipe #3 These were supposed to be cookies to do with cookie cutters, but recipe was too dry, added some milk, but too much! Still, result was pretty tasty!

Recipe #4 Diet Coke Chicken from the Slimming World website
Recipe #5 Pork burgers. Made with low fat pork mince, red onions chopped, one egg and some tomato purée. They were pretty good & nice and easy to make.

Finished reading Elephant Girl by Henri Gyland & started on Where Love Lies by Julie Cohen.

Still aiming to write The End by my birthday, which gives me about six weeks. It's in sight so hope I manage it, although poorly toddlers have slowed progress.

I received some more tremendous writing news in January. Katie Fforde contacted me as she's selected me as the 2015 Katie Fforde bursary winner. This is for someone on the RNA NWS who is nearly there, and just needs a push. It's a tremendous boost, and I do hope I can follow the recent success rate. On that note, I'm getting back to writing!

Recipe #1 & first writing success of 2015!

Flapjacks for the girls! They weren't too shabby.
A tremendous piece of news from the Accent Press & Woman magazine writing competition on Friday. Edging ever closer to The End and this has put some wind in my sails for certain!
